Our 2nd trip on the Mary Valley Rattler Classic in 6 mths. Excellent and attentive staff only wishing the best for their guests. The only downside was the prepared lunch which consisted of a ham salad roll, a large cookie and a bottle of water. The problem was with the salad roll which was soaked through with water. Not sure how as the roll was wrapped in glad wrap. Maybe it was the washed lettuce which made the whole roll soaking wet and virtually inedible. We threw the bun part away and just ate the contents. It was still very nice though. Lunch came in a cooler bag which was great. We will return again but probably buy our own lunch at the kiosk.

We took 2 of our grandchildren aged 3 & 5 on the Christmas trip to Amamoor. They loved every minute as did we. You can buy drinks on board but you can take your own snacks and drinks. Highly recommend the Rattler, the staff are fun and attentive.

Great day trip on the Mary Valley Rattler. It was a day back in the past when the smell of the coal dust blew past as the train steamed ahead. Also exciting for my 4 your old grandson to watch the engine being turned on the turning table for the return trip. Great that you could purchase soft drinks or even wine or beer on the return leg of the trip. Staff were friendly and helpful and provided commentary when required. Great day out for young and old

This was a Christmas gift from us grandparents to our daughter and her family. Our 7-year old grandson fascinated with the Hogwarts' Express and the chance to ride a proper steam-train was too good to pass up. The staff were terrific and it was all done very professionally. As we had the last carriage outbound, we were the first carriage inbound and of course felt all the little particles of soot and carbon on the return trip. A really great day.

The whole experience was great. From the moment you arrive at the restored Gympie Station you are transported back to a bygone era. Grab a coffee at the Rusty Rails cafe and enjoy with the live piano accompaniment. Did the VIP club car experience which was great. Early boarding, a cheese platter and beverage of choice (including alcohol, water and a complimentary stubby holder. The windows are adjustable allowing for ventilation and great photo opportunities Relax and watch the green rolling hills and jersey cows pass by. At Aramoor, jump off the train and watch the engine be positioned on the turntable for the return trip. Just don't get too close as it makes the volunteers rather jumpy and slightly irritable. Leave room for cheese sampling (free) and wine/liqueur tasting ($5) at Dugan Station. Well worth the $5. Great day out for frain enthusiats and non.

Wonderful family adventure onboard the fabulous old train with knowledgeable volunteers giving a commentary along the way so you don’t miss a thing. Scenery is beautiful and the stations have been lovingly restored to enhance the whole experience. Dine at the restaurants or cafes at each end of the three hour trip or take your own picnic, and sit at the tables while you watch the train turnaround at Ammamoor .

A wonderful journey back to our childhood and the days of steam. It was great to talk to some of the train tragic volunteers whose knowledge of trains is amazing at such a young age. Excellent attraction.

Such a fun adventure, like stepping back in time. We had a train enthusiast as part of the group but we were enthralled by information we learnt. Great day out.
