The tour departs from Urangan Harbour, passing Round Island, the Urangan Jetty, Big Woody Island. Some information on the history of the area is given by the skipper. Whales are usually sighted at least 30 minutes after departure while in the Platypus Bay Area, inside Fraser Island(K'gari).
The tour often follows much of the Western Beaches of K'gari. It may be possible to witness many different whale behaviours as well as listening to whalesong through the hydrophone. Other marine animals, such as dolphins, turtles and sea birds may be observed as well. Guests will be offered morning tea, buffet lunch and afternoon tea during the tour.

It was a great day from start to finish. The crew were friendly, professional and informative. We were transferred to and from our hotel, all very easy. Our cruise was at the end of the season and we saw two separate mothers and their calves. Seeing one mother and her calf breaching was amazing. It was a beautiful and relaxing day out. Lunch, Morning and Afternoon teas were very good. Thank you Keith, Toni, Sue, crew and Lyle. We look forward to returning next year.

What an amazing day. From the minute we arrived we knew it was going to be a great day. Keith was absolutely amazing and a wealth of knowledge. Nicki and Rhys were also fantastic. Highly recommend this cruise. We saw some truely memorable sights, and the whales put on an awesome show for us.

The best day out you can have in Hervey Bay. This Cruise has been our favourite so far in Hervey Bay.
From the moment you step on board you are looked after. Plenty of commentary from the captain about the the region & Fraser Island.
We had several close encounters with the pods of whales, one pod stayed playing around the boat for almost an hour.
The morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea was fantastic. Very well fed, with homemade scones.
Well worth taking this tour if you can. We went in Sept 2020.

Absolute sensational day. Keith is a great skipper, narrator and entertainer. He knew where to look while other groups were still searching. He makes you feel part of the family and brought everyone together. The whole day was great including morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea and the whales greeted us as well. A group of three came alongside the boat, a mother, her calf and another adult. Awesome to experience. We took the 3/4 day tour as we thought a half day woudn't do it justice, so glad that we did. Keith stayed out a little longer as well, talk about value for money, just brilliant. By the way the food was great. Toni cooks the best chicken wings, they were tender and delicious. The scones, jam, cream and profitoroles were baked by Keith's wife and Keith respectively and were supurb then the fruit and cheese platter for afternoon tea topped it all off. Bring a container with you for leftovers. Freedom 3 is also a great and very well maintained vessel.
Keith, Toni and Rhyce make an awesome team and nothing is too much trouble for them. I'm coming back again, days like this are to good to do only once.

Last week we did a trip on Freedom lll & had a great time. Although it was getting late in the season & the chances of seeing lots of whales was an issue but we were not disappointed in our sightings. We saw a mother & baby up so close it was fantastic. We did see lots of pods further out thanks to Keith's keen navigation skills. The food was amazing & plenty of it. Many thanks to Keith, Sue & Toni for a terrific trip

We just had the most amazing day whale watching on the Freedom 111! The crew were SO friendly and knowledgeable, and really great with our kids. Morning, afternoon tea and lunch, plus the honour of seeing so many whales in their natural environment, this was an experience I will never forget! We had the most amazing day, and saw heaps of whales. The boat itself isn’t huge, but that’s a good thing because you don’t feel crowded. Highly recommend a cruise with this company, you won’t be disappointed!
